NOTE: Mac OS X 10.11.4 and x.11.5 are not qualified and non recommended for apply with Pro Tools software due to the post-obit known issues:

    CPU performance peaks randomly on lower buffer sizes (AAE error -6101) with non-HD devices
    CPU functioning degradation with lower buffer sizes (AAE error -9171) with HDX
    Pro Tools 12.5 Installer takes several minutes to start up

Authorization

  • Pro Tools 12 software requires a Pro Tools 12 iLok say-so (license) to run. This can exist a single license or in a parcel.
  • Pro Tools Hd 12 software requires both Pro Tools 12 and Pro Tools Hard disk drive 12 iLok authorizations (licenses) to run. These are typically in a packet.
  • The bonus plug-ins (introduced starting with v12.2) use a Pro Tools Program or Pro Tools HD Plan license.
  • Review the licenses on your iLok atilok.com or in iLok License Managing director
  • Run across the Support section ofilok.com for aid with iLok License Director, your iLok account, etc.

Installation

  • Pro Tools 12.v.2 is a full installer (not an updater that requires a previous version installed).
  • Pro Tools 12.5.2 uses a single installer for both Pro Tools and Pro Tools HD, just the iLok authorisation is dissimilar
  • Virtual Instruments and Furnishings for Pro Tools 12 are installed by the Starting time AIR Effects Bundle and Showtime AIR Instruments Bundle (formerly a single Artistic Collection Installer in PT11).  Run these in addition to the Pro Tools installer. (more than info)
  • Pro Tools HDX/Hard disk drive Native Mac users, be sure to install the matching HD Commuter. The HD driver may exist found in theDriver Installers folder included in the 12.5.2 download.
  • Non-HD users, please install the latest compatiblecommuter for your Avid interface

Co-Installation

  • Pro Tools 12.5.2 co-install with Pro Tools 10.x is not supported using Mac Bone X (as 12.five.2 isn't supported on Mac OS 10.viii.five); use Pro Tools 12.4 or lower for co-install with Pro Tools 10.ten
  • Pro Tools 12.x co-install with Media Composer (details)
  • Co-install of Pro Tools 12.x and Media Composer on Windows does non allow Media Composer to be a Video Satellite (details)

HDX Firmware Update

  • Pro Tools xi.2.ii and higher requires a firmware update for HDX cards
  • Firmware update takes place during Pro Tools launch
  • The firmware update was tested for backwards compatibility with Pro Tools x.3.6 and later

Technical Alerts

  • DigiTest 12.4/12.v firmware update process with an HD OMNI doesn't appear to finish, merely canceling before the Hard disk drive OMNI reboots can leave the interface unrecognizable by Pro Tools (bare scribble strips)
  • Hard disk drive hardware is not supported by CoreAudio on Yosemite (or later). iTunes users, delight cheque the Read Me. Native Instruments users, click here

  • Owners of Pro Tools 12 on a current Upgrade Plan tin can download the 12.five.2 installer from their Avid account (note that Pro Tools 12.5.two is not available via Gorging Awarding Manager)
  • Review the Read Me and other docs earlier installing or updating Pro Tools for known issues that could touch your workflow
  • Upgrades from before versions of Pro Tools can exist purchased from theGorging Shop orAvid Reseller
  • Avid Accounts will accept the current version for eligible products
